Vertical Sliding Sash Windows

Ingenious Victorian architects designed sliding sash windows to achieve air flow through the home, with the top sash slid down and the bottom sash slid up the warm air would flow out of the top and cool air would be drawn in at the bottom.

Many people prefer to try to keep the character of their homes when replacing windows but want a warm cosy home.

With the benefit of modern materials we can give you both. 

You have many choices of finish from standard white to woodgrains or coloured foils which give the appearance of painted wood but without the need to ever get your paintbrush out.

We can offer many traditional features including sash horns, astragal bars, deep bottom rails which will all replicate the original features of an original sliding sash window.

There will be no more draughts as the windows all have integrated brush seals in the rebates and extruded profiles which ensure that all seals fit perfectly.

If you live in a period property with beautiful leaded lights and would love to keep them but wish to replace your old windows we can remove the leaded panels and have them encapsulated into a double glazed unit and fitted into your new windows.

Even if some of the glass is cracked or the lead is damaged we can restore them back to their former glory.

Working with craftsmen who have restored traditional stained glass windows for the National Trust and English Heritage we can replace and repair any leaded lights which may need attention. Even if you have a window where the stained glass has been removed but you have the design we can replicate and replace, giving back the character to your property.

If you wish to keep the stained glass but want the benefits of double glazing we can encapsulate your glass into a new double glazed unit.
